Summer in Colorado is no season for staying at home. Before the heavy winters keep people locked indoors, the summer is full of events that capitalize on the great weather. Mark your calendars with these exciting events coming to Colorado this summer.

Colorado Brewers' Festival

There's no better time to sample craft beers paired with great food in Colorado than the annual Colorado Brewers' Festival. For 2019, this award-winning festival is having its 30th anniversary and is celebrating with live music, art and craft exhibits, entertainment, and over 100 beers from over 50 Colorado breweries. The Colorado Brewers' Festival takes place June 28 and 29 in Fort Collins at Canvas Stadium in Colorado State University, a scenic campus. June 28 features a unique Summit event, offering unlimited pours of the finest barrel-aged brews and rare beers that night only.

Denver Underground Music Showcase

Taking place July 26-28, the Denver Underground Music Showcase is a must for music buffs. Hosted by the Denver Post, the annual event packs Broadway venues with unique bands showing off their skill and creativity. Who knows? You could end up seeing a newer band right before the group makes it big. Along the way, you can visit all sorts of popular restaurants, bars, and other places to relax and enjoy music in Denver. The lineup is enormous, so if you're familiar with any underground bands, check to see if one of your favorites is playing at the showcase.

A Taste of Colorado

What about an event for those with discerning palates? A Taste of Colorado is an awesome way to take Labor Day Weekend to another level. It runs from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1 in downtown Denver and features over 50 booths serving the best locally sourced cuisine in Colorado. Beyond the mouthwatering fare, you'll see hundreds of artisan vendors showing off the culture and artistic energy of the state. The event also hosts six different stages with live entertainment, so look over a schedule and plan out what looks the most fun.

Colorado State Fair

No list of summer events in Colorado is complete without the king: the Colorado State Fair. Taking place in Pueblo Aug. 23 to Sept. 2, this is an event you'll have plenty of time to visit and explore. The State Fair has been going on for over 150 years and is loved for its huge selection of entertainment, fun competitions and contests, unusual vendor booths, thrilling rodeo stunts, and food and drink as far as the eye can see. If you're going to visit for more than a day, which you definitely should, book accommodations in advance.
